What is Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)?
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration works for the protection and promotion of the well-being of all overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families in jobsites abroad and at home in the country. The agency has a twin mandate of delivering useful welfare service and benefits and ensuring capital build-up and fund viability.
How do we become a member?
With US dollar 25.00 membership contribution, an OWWA member is entitled to various benefits and services.
You can be a member by:
- Compulsory registration upon processing of employment contracts of OFWs at the POEA; and
- Voluntary registration of OFWs at jobsites, or through electronic registration.
OWWA Membership is valid for two (2) years.
OWWA MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
A. Requirements for WALK-IN CLIENTS

- Filled-up OWWA OFW Information Sheet;
- Copy of valid employment contract and/or recently issued within a month of Certificate of Employment with hanko of the employer or authorized company signatory (Translated in English);
- Photocopy of valid Philippine passport bearing photo, name and signature;
- Photocopy of valid residence ID card. For those with official visa, photocopy of valid official visa stamp at passport;
- If employer is a COMPANY: Copy of Tokibo Tohon/Corporate Registration Certificate (required for initial application or renewal with a new employer only) or Corporate Registration Number filled in the OFW Information Sheet (required for renewal with the same employer only)
If employer is an INDIVIDUAL: National ID Number (Residence Card Number or Gaimusho ID number) of your employer;
- For INITIAL APPLICATION ONLY: Filled-up Declaration of Intent to be an OWWA Member Form;
- Enclosed a returning Letter Pack 370 Yen or Japan Post Smart Letter 180 Yen with your written complete name, address, and contact number for sending back your official receipt and other documents;
- Membership fee of JPY3,000 or less depending on the monthly average equivalent rate of 25 US Dollars.
B. Requirements if through MAIL

- Copy of valid employment contract and/or recently issued within a month of Certificate of Employment with hanko of the employer or authorized company signatory (Translated in English);
